Best Wishes and Good Luck for the New Year -- SPSIR holds a Spring Festival party
On the afternoon of February 6, 2021, Professor Xu Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Political Science & International Relations (SPSIR), and Wu Xiaoli, an assistant for political and ideological work at SPSIR, gathered with the students staying at school in winter vacation in room 1401, Zhonghe Building, to celebrate the Spring Festival together.
Gathering together to celebrate the Spring Festival
Teachers and students decorated the venue together, prepared fruits and snacks, sat around the table and celebrated the Spring Festival. At the beginning of the event, Secretary Xu Hong extended Spring Festival blessings to all the students and comforted them that celebrating the Spring Festival away from home for the first time can help cultivate an independent personality. She hoped that all students should abide by the rules and regulations of the university and have a safe and warm Spring Festival on campus on the premise of self-protection; scientifically manage their time to strike a balance between work and rest, and reasonably arrange the time for study, scientific research, leisure and entertainment; broaden their horizons, adjust their mood, and experience the festive atmosphere in Shanghai. The School will always guard everyone and pass on love to every student staying put.
Then, the students introduced themselves briefly and expressed their New Year wishes to the teachers and schoolmates in a warm atmosphere.
Carrying forward folk customs in a festive atmosphere
In this event, traditional festival customs such as paper-cuts for window decoration, writing couplets and sending Chinese character Fu (福) (which means happiness and blessing) were set up to allow the students to feel the strong atmosphere of Spring Festival and further carry forward the Chinese traditional culture. Everyone showed their skills to make paper-cuts for window decoration and write Chinese character Fu (福). While experiencing hands-on creation, they also pinned their best wishes for the New Year. The vivid paper cuts and Spring Festival couplets full of blessings showed the students' expectations and blessings and created a strong Spring Festival atmosphere. The students communicated with each other in a sweet and joyful atmosphere. In the lantern riddle guessing session, every team of students made concerted efforts to pool their talents. The jubilant red color everywhere set off a warm and peaceful atmosphere. In the finale "Draw and Guess", the undergraduate and postgraduate students showed an amazing tacit understanding with their teammates, attracting the praise of the teachers and students present and bringing the atmosphere of the whole audience to the peak!
Finally, all teachers and students took a group photo as a souvenir, and the party ended successfully in a warm and happy atmosphere.
A warm school with constant care and love
During the winter vacation this year, there are a total of 40 students at SPSIR staying put for the Spring Festival. The School kept records for every student and pay attention to their holiday life. The School also carried out a series of activities to care for students and deliver warm help in the form of symposiums and visits to dormitories, bringing different "love" to students staying put. The Spring Festival party added more festive atmosphere, allowed the homesick students to feel the care and warmth of the University and the School, and further enhanced the cohesion and centripetal force of the School.
